We All Deserve Better
In 2016 I embarked on my second business adventure that included “health”.
My first was my work as a registered nurse and communicable disease specialist! And while those careers were intensely satisfying, I longed for more. I longed for something where I could make a global impact all while helping individuals, including my family.

When we set out to make clean, high-performing products, sourcing safer ingredients was at the forefront of our mind. Over the years, we have worked hard to build a responsible sourcing program to continually address high risk ingredients including: vanilla, mica and palm oil. We’re committed to selecting ingredients and materials that prioritize the people and the planet for generations to come.
Climate change and sustainability are ever-evolving fields that are shifting daily with developments in science and research and new information about how changing environments are impacting people’s health. As leaders in clean beauty, we share our goals and wins so that the environmental, economic, and social impacts of our efforts can continue to hold us accountable to do better.
While all of our ingredients are sourced with a higher standard of safety and quality in mind, it is well recognized — and accepted by regulatory authorities around the world — that incidental, trace levels of a chemical may inadvertently be introduced in a cosmetic product due to the complexities of the supply chain and manufacturing process. At Beautycounter, we work incredibly hard to minimize — but unfortunately, can’t eliminate — the potential that a product may contain trace levels of a chemical from The Never List™.
